Description
Located at the northeastern seashore of Africa. Morocco is the gate to the variety and charming towns of the Sahara desert and coastlines. This 12-day tour of the country gives you a demonstration of beautiful sceneries and memorable adventures. While you are making your way to the medieval cities or the most photographed spots, you will be amazed by its culture and heritage.
Itinerary
DAY 1 : TANGIERS
You will be met at Tangiers port and transferred to your hotel for dinner & overnight. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll have the chance to visit the Grand Socco, the beautiful path of the medina, a spacious plaza with a central fountain that stands before Bab Fass. A perfect introduction to Morocco, the Spanish side of the Rif, and the nearest point to Europe.
DAY 2 : TANGIER | ASSILAH | RABAT
An early morning drive over the Djebel district to Cap Spartel. We proceed then to visit the caves of Hercules. Then drive along the Atlantic coast to the beautiful white-washed town of Asilah, where you will have a walking tour of an hour to the ancient Kasbah, built by the Portuguese in the 15th century. Our trip to Rabat continues, where you will enjoy your lunch in one of the Bouregrag restaurants. The city offers a complete mixture of the historical heritage and the contemporary modern present.
DAY 3 : RABAT | MEKNES | VOLUBILIS | FEZ
Depart Rabat for the Roman city of Volubilis, distinguished for its mosaic grounds and heroic myths before continuing to the Holy City of Moulay Idriss traveling for the UNESCO Site of Meknes, the ancient capital of Moulay Ismail. After lunch, you tour the Old stables, which once housed Pure Arabian and Berber Horses. Later, you proceed to Fez for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4 : FEZ
Meet your guide for a full day city tour in the Medieval city of Fes. This tour is a voyage in the past, where the Jewish and Ismalic heritage are influencing our present identity. Your day will start with a drive via Dar el Makhzen and the Royal Palace with its great seven bronze gates. Then you will stop at Borj Sud for a picturesque view of the medina. Accompanied by your guide, you will explore the maze of this medieval city and the story behind nominating it as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk inside the dyers’ streets in the es-Sebbaghine area, followed by the brass and copperware artisans at es-Seffarine avenues. Get through the twisting alleys to the el-Quarawiyyin Mosque and University, a walk into the past to the Mosque near fragrant Souk of el-Atterine of spices and herbs; el-Atterine Medersa. Of course, not to miss the famous Tanneries on the bank of the Oued Fes. Next to the charming el-Nejjarine Square with its Plaza, fountain, and wood artisans. Finish your walking day at the Bouanania and Attarine Madrassas. Back into your vehicle at Bab Boujloud to end your tour around the stunning ramparts of the Saadian watchtower at the North Borj. Rich history, variety, and many memories to be photographed.
DAY 5 : FEZ | CASABLANCA
An early morning to leave Fez for the Commercial capital of Morocco. There will be a rest stop en route. Check in to our hotel and rest of the day at leisure. You can enjoy lunch in one of the many small restaurants that abound in Casablanca city center. Dinner and overnight in our hotel.
DAY 6 : CASABLANCA
We start our day by visiting the Hassan II mosque, constructed in the Corniche area and established by the late King Hassan II. The Mosque is one of the biggest Mosques in the world outside of Mecca, and one of the two in Morocco where non-Muslims can visit the interiors.
Here you can spend time examining the spectacular insides. Proceed beyond the Habbous district of the old town with its small, twisted alleys before going back to your hotel. Our journey back to the hotel takes us through the city center with its long and contemporary avenues through the Mohamed V Square and the Catholic Cathedral.
DAY 7 : CASABLANCA | OUIRGANE
Depart from Casablanca near Miami Beach before joining the motorway to Marrakech. We traverse the fields of Haouz towards the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the main hamlets of Tahanaoute and Asni with the magnificent Toubkal Massif, and on to Ouirgane for two nights.
DAY 8 : OUIRGANE
Enjoy a full day in the mountains while exploring the stunning vales and local communities in the Tassa Ouirgane National Park on foot, through gardens, and the raised mountains.
DAY 9 : OUIRGANE | MARRAKECH
A leisurely morning, and then leave Ouirgane for Marrakech. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the small medieval alleys of Marrakech Medina and Souks Full of performers, musicians, storytellers, and snake-charmers. Marrakech is a cultural melting pot with many projections that indicate how history has become a part of the way it is today.
DAY 10 : MARRAKECH
Set on a plain below the Atlas Mountains, Marrakech is the capital of the south. Its character is as much African as Arab, reflecting its former role as a caravan station on trans-Saharan trade routes.
Who knew that the Giralda of Seville has a twin sister minaret in Marrakech? It’s the Koutoubia, one of the largest, most beautiful mosques in the western Muslim world. Standing 225 feet high, it’s a Hispano-Moresque masterpiece that’s located in the heart of Marrakech. Other famous sites include four stops. The first site is the Saadian Tombs. It dates in the 15th century back to the time of the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur. Then, stroll in the 19th-century Bahia Palace and its gardens. Designed to capture the essence of the Islamic and Moroccan styles.
DAY 11 : MARRAKECH
